Calamondin / Calamansi

The Calamansi or Calamondin is a hybrid fruit - think half mandarin orange and half kumquat. They are edible with a sweet peel and a sour bite. They are especially great for baked goods, jams, and cocktails. Most notably, the calamondin’s year round blooming cycle offers a stunning transformation of dark green leaves, white flower petals, and bright orange fruit. Calamondins are also known for the fresh citrus aroma they give off when in bloom.

Depending on season, plants range from 18-22 inches tall and 6-8 inches wide. Plants are shipped in standard black one gallon growing pots.

The calamondin produces white, star shaped, fragrant flowers that bloom year-round. It is natural for all the flowers to eventually fall off the tree to produce fruit, so don’t be concerned when they drop.
If you have flowers, you’ll soon have fruit! Calamondin fruit ripens slowly changing colors from a deep green to a bright orange and get to about 3-5 cm in diameter. While the fruit is tart/sour they are great for cooking, marmalade, cakes, or a tasty cocktail garnish.
FYI - We ship our trees from the farm on Monday and Wednesday mornings only. This guarantees three day shipping for each order. *PLEASE NOTE - We do not currently ship to, AZ, CA, LA, HI, TX, Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands, any freight forwarding locations, hotels, PO Boxes, or Military (AFO/FPO).
